Celebrations USA style

CHRISTMAS is coming – in glorious Technicolor – to the Kettering Park Hotel and Spa, where the festive party theme will embrace the glamour of Fifties USA.

Yellow taxis, skyscrapers, cherry cocktails and Bing Crosby’s crooning will welcome guests to the White Christmas party nights, which get under way on November 24.

After pre-dinner drinks, dinner will be served at 7.30pm – the menu featuring such delights as oak-smoked Scottish salmon, roast butternut squash soup, caramelised onion and goat’s cheese tart, roast turkey, blade of English beef and woodland mushroom and chestnut parcel. For desserts, there’s a choice of the award-winning Thwaites Ale Christmas Pudding, Black Forest gateau or cheese platter.

There’s dancing to a DJ and casino tables after dinner, and American hot dogs will be served at midnight for those who are flagging, with taxis (yellow or otherwise) at 1am.

Party nights will be held on 24 and 25 November, and 1, 2, 7 to 9, 13 to 16 and 18 to 23 December. Prices start at £39 per person and go up to £57 depending on the date.

For those who want to prepare, or recover, in style, the Kettering Park Hotel’s Spa is offering pre and post-party treatment packages at £45 Monday to Friday or £50 on Saturday and Sunday.

Festive Lunches will be served from midday to 2pm, Monday to Friday throughout December for those who want to celebrate with colleagues, family or friends at lunchtime. This year’s menu includes parsnip and caramelised onion soup, and goat’s cheese and winter vegetable tartlet; cod loin, traditional turkey and wild mushroom and winter truffle bread pudding. Dessers include, the award-winning Christmas puddings, winter berry and apple crumble or a selection of farm house cheeses.

Available for parties of four or more, the lunches are priced at £26.50 per person including a glass of sparkling wine.

On Christmas Day, the ever-popular Kettering Park Hotel Festive Lunch will be served. The traditional dinner is £100 per person and £55 for children aged five to 12 years, with children under 5 eating free of charge. The menu has something to suit all tastes, and all children under 14 years of age will receive a gift from Santa.

The festivities are finished off with a New Year’s Eve Gala Dinner, while throughout December, guests can book festive Sunday lunches or afternoon tea.
