Fastest growing borough

CORBY has been named by the Office for National Statistics in 2016 as the fastest growing borough outside London.

Many businesses have chosen to make Corby their base, with its easy access to the road and rail network, being the within the Golden Triangle of the M1, M6 and M42 road network and benefiting also from the A14, which forms part of Euroroute E30 and also the Corby Eurohub.

Investment in the town continues – for example, Weetabix announced in January 2017 that it will be investing £30m in its manufacturing sites in Corby and Burton Latimer.

As to housing, there are ambitious plans for the town. In July 2016, the North Northamptonshire Join Core Strategy was adopted, including the West Corby Strategic Urban Extension which allocates 4,500 homes for the site west of Corby and is now part of the strategic plan for the county.

Corby also benefits from some excellent schools, with the Brooke Weston Trust schools being at the forefront of education in the town. The £6.8m extension to Corby Technical School is under way and due to be completed in October 2017.

As to leisure facilities the town boasts the fabulous Corby Swimming Pool, The Core Theatre, the new Savoy Cinema to name a few. And how many people know that Corby is the home Europe’s largest urban sports centre, Adrenalin Alley?

Wilson Browne have a longstanding involvement with the town, currently having a base within the town at Corby Enterprise Centre. Partner Ika Castka is Co-Chair of Corby Business Group and a governor at Brooke Weston Academy. Ika said: “I went to school in Corby in the 1970s, when aspirations were low and everything revolved around the steel works. Look how much things have changed – I’m pleased to be able to work with the people of Corby and to see it continue to grow.”
