Providing vital utilities

SET in the majestic Rushden Hall is a thriving company making an impact on the utilities and construction industry.

Technical and Development Service (TDS) operates its Midlands office from here. Their primary aim is to help developers and housing associations install the vital utility services required for the thousands of houses being built across the region.

From small local developers to large FTSE 500 developers, the utility team at TDS become a vital part of these companies. The teams are involved at any one time with budget calculations, disconnections of properties which need to be cleared before a development is built, applications for new services and project management of the installation of the services.

MD Paul Fleming explained: “Developers are calling us in at an earlier stage now than they used to. They are reviewing land all the time to meet the government housing targets. Primarily we help before the sale with budget costs, and then assist with the formal application process, plus often we are asked to project manage the utilities onto site saving them time and money allowing them to concentrate on doing their job – building homes.

“Our adoptions team then come along after the development is built and project manage the task of getting the development adopted by the local council.

“Then to finalise things, our customer care and rebates team are working with the developers to ensure the people who buy the properties are happy and the developers receive their money back on infrastructure they have built for the utility companies. It’s full circle so to speak.”

Call Paul or any of the team on 01933 411413 to discuss where TDS can give you the time back to concentrate on building your development.
