Site works commencing

GORELL Barnes are delighted to report that a three-acre site is being developed at Park Farm South, opposite Bannatynes Leisure, for local housing, but also to provide a vital facility for workers at the hugely successful Park Farm Industrial Estate.

A deal by Bowerbridge Land has been done with Wellingborough Homes to develop 54 one, two and three-bedroom affordable housing on the main part of the site, accessed directly from the Southern Roundabout on Niort Way. There will also be enough remaining site area to develop over 9,000 square feet of local neighbourhood type shops and roadside facilities to include the likes of a coffee shop, convenience store and takeaway shops.

Strong interest has been shown in the site already, including an offer for the whole but also for the individual drink and food refreshment facilities and local convenience supermarket.

John Barnes of Gorell Barnes commented that this development will help satisfy a desperate need for more than 3,000 staff and occupiers of Park Farm. Previously, people had to travel in their cars some distance to get lunch or other refreshments. John feels this will, therefore, only enhance the attractiveness of this successful original enterprise zone which is also so accessible off the ring road via the Bannatynes Roundabout.

The facilities are expected to be complete for trading for next summer.
