Club hands over hospice funds

MEMBERS of a Northamptonshire business networking group have raised an amazing £2,100 for Kettering-based charity The Cransley Hospice Trust.

The Business Club Northants, which counts more than 100 businesses in the county as members, chose The Cransley Hospice Trust as its Charity of the Year for 2017 and set about raising money through a variety of fundraising events, including summer and autumn golf tournaments, barbecue, a tenth anniversary Gala Dinner and a charity collection box at each meeting throughout the year.

The charity, which funds hospice care for the north of Northamptonshire, joined the Business Club to build relationships with local businesses and raise awareness of the charity’s various services and activities.

Mike Willis, CEO of The Business Club Northants, said: “We hold scores of events across the county every year and like to use these as an opportunity to support local charities where we can, not only by raising much-needed funds, but by giving them a platform to reach people they would never normally be able to reach.

“It gives myself and our members enormous pleasure to present this cheque to The Cransley Hospice Trust. They do an amazing job supporting patients, families and carers who have been affected by life-limiting illnesses and I know that the money will be put to good use.”
