Staff will now fundraise for the charity throughout 2020 by hosting a range of events for staff and communities in which they build.
Northampton and District Mind is committed to delivering high-quality and appropriate services for people who experience mental ill health, promoting recovery, independence and integration at all times.
Mind aims to raise awareness of mental health, to challenge the stigma associated with mental illness and to promote and support positive mental health.
Northampton and District Mind has a range of services focused on mental health and wellbeing, supporting all those who need it, in Northampton and South Northants.
The organisation provides crisis cafes, offering a listening ear in times of need, support into employment, one-to-one support and educational courses helping people understand what’s happening including anxiety, depression and anger management.
Jo Gratrick, CEO at Northampton and District Mind, said: “The issues around the increase in people having mental ill health are well documented but however critical this is an area where public funding cannot meet anywhere near the needs of our communities.
“We are delighted that we have been chosen as David Wilson Homes charity of year, it will bring much needed resources to the charity so that we can continue to develop services and capacity our communities need.”
John Dillon, Managing Director at David Wilson Homes South Midlands, said: “We are thrilled to be supporting Northampton and District Mind as our charity of the year for 2020.
“The work that they carry out on a daily basis is admirable and we’re grateful to have this opportunity to raise vital funds for such a worthwhile cause.
