ONE of Northampton’s most successful restaurants has put together a delicious menu to tempt diners in the run-up to the Christmas period.
Office parties and groups of friends and colleagues of up to 90 can book the Hopping Hare in Duston for its Christmas Fayre Menu, while smaller groups can take advantage of the conservatory, which holds up to 50, or simply book a table in the bustling restaurant.
The restaurant is the only one in the county to have been featured in a list compiled by The Sunday Times and Harden’s of the top 130 restaurants in Britain representing best value. Harden’s were ‘looking for real passion, soul and individuality’. It is also one of just five 2 AA Rosette establishments in the county and the only one in Northampton.
Every dish is cooked in house by the team of chefs, headed up by Grant Wentzel, using the very best local ingredients.
The Christmas Fayre Menu includes leek and potato soup, chicken liver parfait, smoked salmon terrine and chicory tart for starters; followed by turkey and all the trimmings, slow braised blade of beef, Jerusalem artichoke and baby spinach risotto and pan-fried cod loin for the main courses.
Diners can choose from Christmas pudding, creamy Tahitian vanilla rice pudding, clementine and gingerbread trifle, and triple layered chocolate tart for dessert.
The menu is available from Monday 26 November at £28.50 for lunch and £29.95 for dinner and one free place is included for parties of 10 and over.
The Hopping Hare also has a Christmas Day menu at £90 per person or £50 for children, a Boxing Day menu which is priced at £35 per person and £20 for children, and a New Year’s Eve menu at £65 per person. For £210 per couple guests can stay over in one of the hotel’s 20 luxury en-suite bedrooms – the price includes bedroom, New Year’s Eve dinner and brunch the following day.
