CELEBRATE the festive season at The Stag’s Head in Great Doddington, an award-winning traditional village pub.

Expect a warm welcome at the pub, which has a team headed up by general manager Kelly Rendle. Kelly and proprietors Gerry and Bob Rendle have been built up the pub’s reputation over 23 years and have a team that takes pride in providing a first class service.

Freshly prepared, home cooked meals are a real attraction and the Christmas menu promises to live up to expectations.

This year’s menu includes duck & orange pate, chestnut mushroom risotto, and vintage prawns in Marie Rose. Mains include traditional roast turkey with all the trimmings, slow roasted rib of prime beef, chicken breast topped with BBQ pulled pork and Philly cheese sauce, salmon supreme with a parmesan crust on a bed of tomato concasse and chef’s deer and beer casserole.

Finish with various tempting desserts, including the obvious favourite Christmas pudding drizzled with Baileys custard, festive gingerbread cheesecake or if you feel like savoury a three cheese platter may tempt the taste buds. If you’re after a party atmosphere the party nights are very popular and include a disco and late bar.

The Stag’s Head has a 48-seater beamed restaurant, 26-seater cellar restaurant area, lounge, a separate garden bar area and an enclosed garden area.

Awards include Trip Advisor’s Certificate of Excellence, only awarded to ten per cent of businesses worldwide and runner-up in the Rural Community Pub of the Year category in Carlsberg Uk Northamptonshire Food and Drinks Awards.
