CHRISTMAS menus deserve the very best food, and the team at Greens Restaurant haven’t had to look very far for some of their favourite, high-quality ingredients.
The Collingtree Park Golf Club restaurant, headed up by award-winning chef Seamus Bryans – a finalist in the Chef of the Year category in this year’s Carlsberg UK Northamptonshire Food & Drink Awards – is a member of Made in Northamptonshire. Seamus and his team believe strongly in sourcing from and supporting local producers wherever possible, and the local connection is strong in its festive line-up.
From the beginning of December, Greens Restaurant will be holding Party Nights, which get under way with drinks at 7pm, include a three-course meal, Christmas crackers and novelties and a festive disco until 1am; and Festive Lunches from noon to 3pm Sunday to Friday.
Among the local delights featuring on the menus are the starters Brixworth Pate with red onion and peppercorn marmalade and Nene View Dairy’s Firefly Goat’s Cheese with red chilli jam. There’s also fragrant Thai spiced parsnip soup and prawn salad.
The main courses include Northampton-reared free-range bronze turkey and Brackley short rib of Aberdeen Angus beef slow cooked in Delapre dark ale. Also on the menu are seared salmon fillet, chestnut and Portobello mushroom roast and a gourmet Aberdeen Angus cheeseburger.
Traditional Christmas pudding, eggnog panna cotta and three chocolate and Amaretti rocky road with local I’m Real ice cream are joined on the dessert selection by a selection of Northamptonshire cheeses.
Evening Parties and Party Nights start on December 1 with the venue available for exclusive hire for parties of over 80. The Festive Lunches will be available from Sunday 2 December.
Greens Restaurant’s Christmas Day menu is £80 per person and £25 for children, with under fives eating free. On New Year’s Eve a special five-course celebration dinner is £70 per person, starting at 7pm and dinner served at 7.45.
