Partying in a city that never sleeps

WHAT is said to be the city that never sleeps is providing the backdrop for some special party nights at Kettering Park Hotel this Christmas.

Fairytale of New York is the theme for the festive season and guests are promised all the glamour of the Big Apple lifestyle, including a three-course dinner, midnight snacks, casino fun and dancing to a DJ.

The party nights begin on Friday, 23 November and will be held every Friday and Saturday until Christmas, as well as selected additional dates throughout December. Parties will also be held on 4 and 5 January and 11 and 12 January for those who want to celebrate later with family and friends.

The Party Night menu includes the traditional roast turkey and Christmas puddings, as well as a selection of starters including oak smoked salmon, spiced parsnip and roast sweetcorn soup and spinach and goat’s cheese tart. For those who want to move away from the traditional, the mains also include slow-braised Brooklyn Ale beef and pumpkin and herb parcel, and to finish, guests can also choose from chocolate and orange NYC cheesecake or a cheese platter.

In case guests start to flag later, chilli cheese dogs with onions, ketchup and American mustard will be served at midnight.

In between, host Dave Andrews will make sure the dance floors are full and guests can try their luck at the fun casino tables with the hotel’s festive dollars.

Prices start at £39.95 and vary according to the date, full details are on the hotel website.

The same menu is available at lunchtime throughout December at £26.50 per person.

Christmas Day Lunch is priced at £105 per person and £55 for children and the chefs have come up with a varied selection of dishes to suit all tastes.

Starters include slow cooked ham with shitake mushroom and black truffle roulade or salad of Norfolk crab, followed by an intermediate course of ravioli of lobster or mushroom pithivier, while the main courses include traditional turkey and all the trimmings as well as fillet of venison, sea bream and wild mushroom suet puddings. Thwaites Award-Winning Ale Christmas Pudding leads the list of desserts, along with warm chocolate fondant, caramelised pineapple and a cheese selection.

The hotel is also planning a New Year’s Eve break package at £149 per person including an overnight stay and three-course dinner, with the option to extend the stay for those really keen to make a leisurely start to 2019.

Full details of all Christmas events, including combining them with spa experiences and overnight stays, are available on the website www.ketteringparkhotel.co.uk or call 01536 416666.
