Orangery will add another dimension

IT’S hard to imagine Rushton Hall offering any more of a ‘wow factor’ to visitors, but plans for the new orangery are set to do just that.

IT’S hard to imagine Rushton Hall offering any more of a ‘wow factor’ to visitors, but plans for the new orangery are set to do just that.

Visitors are already greeted by the breathtaking view of the former home of Francis Tresham, of Gunpowder Plot fame, as they make their way up the drive. Once finished, the orangery will provide a second moment to savour, whether you’re arriving for a wedding, exhibition, conference or product launch.

Expected to be completed in 2017, the orangery will easily hold 300 for a wedding, conference or private party, adding another dimension to the already popular venue.
Having been in the planning stage for some 11 years, planning permission has now been granted, with English Heritage and Kettering Borough Council giving the plans its seal of approval.

Tom Gilbert, Marketing Manager at Rushton Hall, said: “Rushton Hall is a beautiful building but, as is always the case with traditional old venues, you are bound by the layout of the house in terms of what space you can offer.

“The orangery will add a new dimension because we will be able to hold large gatherings in one room, providing a wow factor to match the grandeur of the rest of the house.”
With dedicated space for wedding ceremonies, as well as a drinks area with a large bar, it is planned that the seating area could be kept closed off until the couple are ready for the big ‘reveal’ when their guests see for the first time how the room looks for their special day.
Its size will also make the orangery perfect for major product launches – the doors open to allow vehicles in for motor shows and make it ideal for trade exhibitions, fashion shows and launches.

“Because we will have a large venue coupled with accommodation, we are hoping that Rushton Hall will add something else to your regular trade meetings or conferences,” said Tom Gilbert.

“If delegates wanted to stay on site during a show, or follow up contacts made at a show by staying over and visiting potential suppliers the following day, or holding follow-up meetings at the hotel, they will be able to do this in the comfort of the hall.
“It’s already a very special venue and the changes will simply add to that.”
