Supporting local businesses

IT has been widely reported in the news recently that Moore Stephens has merged with BDO. What you may not be aware of is that the merger only involved one Moore Stephens member firm, Moore Stephens LLP, (which had offices in London, Birmingham, Reading and Bristol).

The remainder of the Moore Stephens UK and International network remains unchanged, offering high-quality accountancy and business advice from 31 offices across the UK, including the stunning East Midlands HQ at Oakley Hay in Corby.

Managing Partner, Nick Bairstow, said: “Moore Stephens’ priority remains, as it has always been, to look after SMEs and owner managed businesses. The Moore Stephens Corby office employs 29 staff across a range of departments and provides a complete solution to both individuals and business clients, from accounts and bookkeeping, tax return preparation and tax advice, a complete payroll service, support with accounting software and much more.”

Moore Stephens has a long history with the local area, and can trace its roots back to 1924 when it opened its first offices in Northamptonshire. The firm moved into its current offices in Corby in 2008.

Nick continued: “Corby has a thriving business community, and we work with some amazing clients across a wide range of sectors. It’s wonderful to be a part of their journey and to support them as they develop and grow.

“Corby is the perfect location for us. Being based outside major financial centres means our cost structure is lower, so we are able to keep our prices competitive without compromising on the quality of the service we deliver.”

Alongside the Corby office, Moore Stephens also has offices in the East Midlands in Northampton and Peterborough. The firm is part of global network Moore Stephens International Limited, which has offices in more than 100 countries across the world.

Nick added: “Being part of a larger network mean that however our clients’ circumstances change, we can continue to give them all the support and guidance they need to deal with new risks and opportunities. As clients’ business and personal interests need to expand, we can help to make it happen – coordinating advice from a global network of offices in more than 1000 countries.”

Despite their pedigree, the Moore Stephens team understands that choosing a new accountant can be daunting. “Getting the right business advisor is one of the most important decisions a business owner will make,” said Nick. “Getting advice from someone you trust and feel comfortable with is essential. We recommend that you make an appointment for a free, no obligation meeting over a cup of tea or coffee and a biscuit to find out more before you make any decisions.”
