Creatives seal merger deal

The specialist creative industries division of business advice firm Fortus has completed its merger with fellow industry specialist Balmforth Associates.

Fortus has been working for the past two years with a growing portfolio of clients in the marketing and advertising, film and television, publishing, music, fashion and architecture sectors. It has an office in Milton Keynes – which the firm describes as a ‘creative hotspot’ – as well as in London and Leeds.

Balmforth Associates has built a sizeable client portfolio across the creative, media and built environment sector since it was founded by Bryony Balmforth in 2010. She has moved to Fortus as associate director – creative industries.

“Establishing and growing Balmforth Associates has been a tremendous experience and this feels the right time to make the move both for myself and the business,” she said.

“There is certainly a very natural fit with Fortus from a cultural perspective too. The work they have delivered in the creative space over the past two years gives us huge confidence that we will be in a solid position to strengthen our offer and broaden the range of services we provide.”

The creative sector is an important part of the UK economy and Fortus is looking forward to growing its presence within it, said executive director – creative services Rob Quinn.

“This announcement represents a natural extension to our expertise within the industry and I look forward to welcoming Bryony to the team.

“She is well-known and highly respected within the industry and her sector expertise will be a valuable addition to our clients and Fortus as a whole.”
