THE range of promotional products available these days is sometimes overwhelming – so where do you start in finding something that does the job you want it to do and makes you stand out from the crowd?

Putting years of experience in promotional products to good use, Simon Cox of Simon Cox Ltd Marketing Solutions will not only source the required items, but also help clients identify what will work best for them.

Simon has, in the past, been heavily involved in his family’s embroidery and printing business, providing promotional workwear and accessories, but launched his new venture this year after seeing a need among clients for expert advice working as an outsourced marketing solutions and brand promotion provider.

“To give an example,” said Simon, “I’ve recently worked with a plumbing company to source personalised radiator keys. It’s different, but it’s something that is useful and relevant and home owners or businesses will keep them to hand in case they need them, and, if they have a plumbing issue, will call the number that’s on the key.

“My own product range is comprehensive, but I can also source just about anything from suppliers worldwide if necessary – and the possibilities are almost endless. The important thing for me is talking to a client, confidentially, to find out where their business is going, what they are planning to do in terms of marketing, and coming up with solutions that help them get the most from their products.

“If they’re going to a trade show and are considering giving away a promotional product, pens or key rings are popular, but between my clients and I, we can talk through ideas where we can come up with something that is different and relates directly to their business meaning they could stand a better chance of being remembered by people in receipt of their product.

“I see my new venture more as a service than a supplier – helping to support SMEs and sole traders as well as sharing years of experience in making sure the marketing really works.”

Simon offers a free first consultancy session to discuss marketing solutions for individual businesses, community groups and charities.
