MIDLANDS Power and Motion Ltd was created to provide the supply, service and repair of all types of hydraulic and pneumatic equipment to a vast and varied range of industries.
Twenty years later the company, based in Royal Oak Way South on Daventry’s Royal Oak Industrial Estate, has eight staff who have all worked together since the early 1980s.
Managing Director Mick Lovesey said: “Our company’s team pretty much spans five decades now with a huge collective knowledge of our industry. Our philosophy is to operate as a small, happy team transmitting our friendly approach towards our customers resulting in long term relationships.
“We understand the urgency of a breakdown situation our customers may have at times, and pride ourselves on a fast and effective response every time. We have the ability to identify old and obsolete equipment and very often will cross reference to something readily available, with no compromise to performance, and fast!”
Sales of new equipment have remained steady over the past few years so, five years ago, the team took the decision to invest more into the repair side of the business.
The investment in a fully equipped machine shop and test area has been rewarded with a growth in this side of the business.
Mick said: “This area has been incredibly successful, and we now offer fast turnaround in fully guaranteed repairs to hydraulic rams, cylinders, pumps, motors and valves as well as the supply of component spares and seals.
“We also design and manufacture hydraulic power packs, hose pressure test rigs and filtration flushing rigs. Again, all in-house for quick delivery.
“With the need for many of our customers to reduce their stock holding, we also have the facility to offer consolidated stock, managed regularly by ourselves and invoiced on usage only basis.”
A very busy trade counter offers a full service including hydraulic hoses while you wait, a vast range of hydraulic, pneumatic and power transmission products, oils and lubricants and always friendly advice to hand.
Mick said: “As we complete our second decade here in Daventry and another record year of sales, we carry on and keep smiling! It seems to work.”
