Industrial park nominated for award

A LOCAL speculative industrial and logistics development project, which has regional significance, has been shortlisted for an award in the forthcoming Northamptonshire Business Awards being held in November.

Cransley Park located at junction 8 of the A14 at Kettering is currently being developed by St Francis Group and their partner Richardson. Once a breakers yard dating back to the end of the steam era, and known at that time as ‘Cohen’s Yard’, the 32-acre site has since been fully remediated by Midlands brownfield development specialist, St Francis Group. The scheme is now delivering 270,000 square feet of new employment space for local and regional businesses in a range of building sizes from 25,000 square feet to 100,000 square feet.

Gareth Williams, Development Director at St Francis Group, said: “We are delighted to be delivering brand new high-quality accommodation having identified an acute need from expanding industrial and logistics businesses in the Kettering area. We are equally proud that the scheme has now been recognised by a group of independent judges and has been shortlisted for a Northamptonshire Business Award in their Land and Development category.”

Cransley Park is due for completion in February 2019 and each unit is being built to the highest standards to cater for the needs of modern industrial and logistics operators. Features include a mixture of dock level and level access loading, up to 50m deep loading yards, up to 12m clear eaves height and fully fitted offices. The units are available to lease or for sale.

James Hill a Director at joint agent Lambert Smith Hampton updated on interest in the scheme: “The reaction from occupiers has vindicated the developers’ decision to commit to a speculative development in Kettering, enabling businesses to make informed decisions and take advantage of immediate availability rather than wait for premises to be built.

“Market analysis indicated a severe shortage of growth opportunities in the locality, and we have been pleased to find just as many enquiries from regional businesses as we have from local employers. The volume and range of interest we are handling at this stage is a great endorsement for Kettering as well as the scheme itself.”
