Investment to meet demand

CHANGING building styles and the increasing pressure to meet environmental guidelines in new buildings have led Saxon Blinds in Northampton to invest in equipment that will help meet the needs of clients.

It is expected that a second five metre by three metre commercial roller blind table will be delivered and built at the Magee Street factory before the end of this year. The additional table will allow the company, which manufactures and installs a wide range of blinds for commercial and domestic customers, to meet the increasing demand for extra-wide heavy-duty roller blinds with chain or gear operations.

Huge take-up of motorised options have driven year-on-year growth at Saxon Blinds and the second table has been ordered to help cope with that demand.

Mark Grainger, Managing Director of Saxon Blinds, said: “Architects and large, blue chip builders are increasingly ordering large, bespoke blinds for new buildings and we needed to invest in another table in order to keep up with demand.

“Blinds play an important part in controlling the temperature of a modern building, particularly those with large windows that let in a lot of light but also get very warm. To keep our workplaces comfortable, blinds are easily adjustable and are far more energy efficient than air-conditioning and heating systems.

“We can produce blinds up to five metres wide, in materials that work with any environment, including printed blinds that feature logos or corporate branding.”

Saxon Blinds specialises in large-scale projects for clients in the education, leisure, commercial and industrial sectors, as well as the domestic market.

The firm manufactures a complete range of roller, vertical, Venetian and blackout blinds for windows, roofs, skylights and atriums, offering choice, flexibility and competitive pricing, as well as a five-year guarantee on all commercial blinds. The company also provides shutters and awnings. All Saxon Blinds staff are DBS checked and part of the Construction Skills Certification Scheme.
