It’s been quite a ride

WARWICK Burt Construction celebrates its 25th year in business in 2018 and has come a long way from it first minor refurbishment project in 1993 working from a director’s dining room, to its current position as a leading local design/build commercial contractor working from a modern office facility on Moulton Park.

The company continues to play a major part in projects across the region, with a number of projects set to commence during the autumn months for key clients.

In Milton Keynes, work has just commenced on a £3.5m project for regular client Hampton Brook at Knowhill, Milton Keynes. The project consists of two new industrial units, totalling 45,000 square feet, one of which is already pre-let. This follows on from the successful completion of the new 30,000 square foot headquarters of food industry supplier Reiser. The new £2.5m UK facility on Maidstone Road, Kingston, was also developed by Hampton Brook and has seen the Reiser UK team relocating from leased premises close by.

Warwick Burt are also currently negotiating a major £2.5m office refit for Hampton Brook on a property at Luton Airport. This is expected to commence very soon.

Following on from completing a combined residential/retail unit with the ground floor pre-let to the Co-op with four residential two-bedroom flats above in Cambourne, Cambridgeshire, for Newcrest Estates, Warwick Burt will shortly be commencing its fourth project for Newcrest Estates for a £1.5m three-block retail estate in Aylesbury.

Over 10 years go Warwick Burt built a total of nine office blocks for both Hampton Brook and St Clair Investments on Bedford Road in Northampton at Waterside close to the Britannia pub. Well, the office market seems to have returned as St Clair Investments have engaged the company again to build out the next phase. The first 10,000 square foot three-storey unit and associated infrastructure of £1.7m value will commence before Xmas with completion some seven months later. The signs are looking good for a second 10,000 unit to start also very soon.

“Its been quite a ride over the last 25 years and we would like to thank all those that have entrusted us with their projects over the years. Our forthcoming workload is hopefully looking to exceed that of 2018 and may even break our own turnover record,” said Director Andy Burt
