Prestigious projects lead to growth

WORK on prestigious projects means that Corby-based main contractor S.A.C. Construction has been able to double turnover and appoint key members of staff to aid growth plans for the business.

The company’s growth follows the successful completion of three prestigious projects: The Penrose Court Care home in Biggleswade; a state-of-the-art sports pavilion in Great Denham, near Bedford; and a complex seven-week science block refurbishment for The Bedford Girls School.

S.A.C. Construction Director, Jordan Connachie, said: “These projects demonstrate our capability to deliver complex design and build jobs and highlight the diversity of work we undertake. Furthermore, Penrose Court has helped established us as a key player in the care market, an area we are focusing on to maintain our growth plans over the next five years.”

Alongside the business’s growth plans S.A.C. have strengthened their team through the appointment of Cerys Johnson as Business Administration Apprentice, James Bellamy as Site Manager and Tony Robinson as Head of Pre-Construction Services.

Jordan said: “The appointment of Tony follows a significant increase in enquiry levels both in terms of project values and project complexity. And the appointment of James and Cerys ensure we have the site management and office support to deliver unrivalled commitment to each and every project. We’re extremely pleased to have them all on board.”

In addition to the increased enquiry levels, S.A.C. Construction have been awarded the following schemes which provide a forward order book in excess of £10 million:

* Design and construction of an 18-unit specialist supported housing development for HBV – Supported Living.

* Design and construction of an 83-bed residential care facility in Northamptonshire.

* Refurbishment and reconfiguration of a sheltered housing scheme for Bedfordshire Pilgrims Housing Association.

A further insight in to the company’s success can be seen in the national recognition it has received from the Considerate Constructors Scheme gaining a National Company Award for the third year running. The award is testament to S.A.C’s contribution towards improving the image of construction.

S.A.C. Construction serve a broad range of clients across varying sectors with a key focus on education, commercial and healthcare. If you would like to discuss your next project, contact the team on 01536 260765.
