Putting youth first

NORTHAMPTON-grown, dbfb has two decades’ experience in providing complete packages to help businesses work more effectively and efficiently by connecting them to the latest mobile, landline, cloud, IT and ultra-fast connectivity solutions.

Growing partnerships for the 18/19 season will see dbfb continue to expand on their position as Northampton Town Football Club’s Official Communications Partner. dbfb already manage the club’s mobile and connectivity – this year brings an exciting opportunity for dbfb to take on IT support for both the back-office and matchdays.

“One of the deciding factors in choosing dbfb for our business-critical IT is their ability to offer us vital match day support,” said Commercial Director of NTFC, Caroline Lucy. “It is incredibly important for us to know we have support 24/7. What really stood out for us was their approach, they challenged us to think differently about IT.

“Previously, IT was thought of as a resource whereas now we truly believe it can be an enabler to drive revenue growth for us. dbfb have been partners of the club for some time now so we know the support is there and, like the club, they are heavily involved in supporting and giving back to the local community.”

dbfb will this season also become the Official Development Team Sponsor with branding appearing on the Academy kits and around key parts of the stadium.

“These are exciting times for the Northampton Town Academy,” Caroline Lucy added.

Managing Director of dbfb, Simon Pickering said: “Our decision to become the club’s Development Team sponsor was simple. We have previously employed and continue to employ graduates fresh from university and young individuals with big potential and ambition. We really want to develop youth and help to bring through the next generation. Therefore, we feel very passionate about our decision to support the Northampton Town Development Teams.”

Developing youth within dbfb was further demonstrated this month as one of dbfb’s youngest employees, Connor Slasberg was voted President of Next Generation Chamber.

Next Generation Chamber was launched by Northamptonshire Chamber of Commerce this year to help businesses nurture young members of staff by offering them regular personal development sessions and networking events.

Customer development manager of dbfb and President of Next Generation Chamber, Connor Slasberg said: “The Next Generation committee has so much potential. It’s very exciting that together we will shape the future of this Chamber. I’m excited to get stuck into the role and thank all of my colleagues and committee members for the support.”

Chamber chief executive Paul Griffiths added: “Connor is so enthusiastic about his industry and career. He has brought this enthusiasm with him to Next Generation Chamber.”

Managing Director of dbfb, Simon Pickering said: “We’re very proud of Connor. He is an advocate of why we believe in employing youth. Over the past 20 years dbfb has always ingrained itself into the local business community. We are delighted that Connor is continuing this tradition with an eagerness to learn and excel. We look forward to seeing him grow even further into his role both here at dbfb and as Next Generation Chamber President.”
