A NEW cafe in Northampton is gaining praise from the residents of the town, just four months after opening.
Cookies & Cream, a family-run business based on The Drapery in Northampton, opened its doors in February and serves everything from ice cream and waffles to cakes and milkshakes.
With other branches in London and Luton and several years of experience behind him, owner Muj decided to set up a cafe on The Drapery after identifying it as a prime location for a food business.
He said: “The Drapery is a very well-known area in Northampton with various food places already situated here. It is also home to all types of other businesses. I thought that having a dessert place in the centre of it all would prove attractive to potential customers.”
And Muj was right. Since opening, Cookies & Cream has served thousands of customers and is fast becoming popular with the locals. Due to demand, the cafe has already expanded into offering takeaway and delivery services and – as it is based over two floors – the venue can also be hired out for private parties.
One of the cafe’s happy customers, Aaron Brock, said Cookies & Cream provided an amazing atmosphere with a friendly welcome and added: “It’s the only dessert place that I’ve been to where I have felt stuffed afterwards. Great value for money!”
The cafe, which currently employs 16 members of staff, is hoping that this continued success will lead to more job creation for the people of Northampton and the surrounding area in the near future.
“Being local residents ourselves, investing in local people and giving them the opportunity to gain valuable skills and experience is important to us,” said Muj.
“We hope to be here for many years to come and are looking forward to building long-term relationships with our customers and fellow small to medium-sized businesses in the area. We welcome all the residents of Northampton to come and give us a try and taste the great desserts we have on offer.”
