THE purchase of a thriving Rushden firm made sense to the management team at chartered accountants Elsby & Co.
Trevor L Newell & Co in Rushden was headed up by Trevor Newell and his wife Joan, along with Peter Knight who shared the same core values as Carl and Clare Elsby who also set up their firm 25 years ago.
The Newells are looking forward to their retirement with the confidence that the firm they had nurtured is safe in the hands of another family-run firm.
The offices at Wellingborough Road, Rushden, have been given a fresh new look to reflect the look at Elsby & Co’s other offices in Sywell, Corby and Milton Keynes.
The employee count at Elsby & Co has risen to the highest in its history with 40 staff working across the four bases – a number of whom have enjoyed internal promotions giving them a greater interest in the company’s future. Much of the success of individuals is down to the firm’s commitment to training and development which has seen several young trainees pass exams throughout 2017.
Elsby & Co was also a finalist in the SME Northamptonshire Business Awards in the category of Service Excellence which pays testament to their ‘client comes first’ culture.
Carl Elsby, founding partner of Elsby & Co, believes their success is down to the development of clearly defined values developed over a quarter of a century in business.
