GROWTH and expansion over nearly 40 years has seen the second generation of the Nicholson family move into senior roles at Inter County Cleaning Services.
Founded in 1978 by Keith Nicholson and his two original business partners, the company is now run by Keith, his wife Lorna and their children, with daughter Martine Harlow heading up the Waste Management Department, while son Mark Nicholson is Head of Janitorial Services.
They work with a team of 30 head office based staff and more than 400 out in the field to provide a range of services that has developed significantly from the original cleaning business. Many of Inter County’s staff have been with them for many years making them part of the Nicholson ‘family’.

Martine Harlow said: “There are some restrictions due to health and safety and compliance issues but our fully licensed team can offer options that are typically cheaper than skip hire. I have a great team working with me and without them none of this would be possible.”
Last year, a vehicle specially modified for window cleaning was purchased, enabling the use of the latest technology to clean windows with a de-ionised water and pole system. With adding this service Martine and her team can provide a full range of services for her customers including grounds maintenance.
