THE latest recruit joining CFW Chartered Accountants & Business Advisers is new apprentice, Laura Keenan.
Laura approached Loddington-based CFW, keen to take the apprentice route with its salary and study approach rather than the university and student loan option.
This latest apprentice appointment is one of three apprentices that CFW has taken on recently. Daniel Smith joined the firm earlier this year and is currently studying for his AAT Level 2 at Tresham College. Having completed her initial 12-month apprenticeship, Fiona Tufnail was offered a position at CFW, is now AAT qualified and will be studying towards her ACCA qualification.
CFW Partner, Anthony Stevens, said: “Taking on apprentices is certainly working for us as we grow our staff team, which is now 15 strong. We can help to develop an employee from scratch. Coming straight out of school with no experience, apprenticeship offers thorough on-the-job training backed up by a formal qualification at Tresham College. After the initial 12-month programme, they can go on to study further for AAT Levels 3 and 4 and for those individuals who want to, there’s the option through ACCA exams to go even further and become a fully qualified Chartered Certified Accountant.
“Having a very good grounding in the profession means an individual gets ahead early on in terms of practical accounting experience. It’s very satisfying to see staff develop so quickly with the right support in place and we’ve been very impressed with the quality of our recent apprentices.
“We want to be developing staff in this way and it offers them the opportunity to develop and become the managers leading the firm in the future”.
Currently located in Loddington, CFW has invested significantly in new offices, staff and in digital technology as part of its growth strategy and moves into brand new offices in Kettering next spring.
