YOU might think there is no such thing as a free lunch but caterers DDW Catering Ltd like to do things differently.
A complimentary sample buffet is always offered to Corby-based clients looking to use the firm’s lunchtime delivery service.
Experienced chef Des Wallington, said: "We want people to taste our food and see how it is presented. It is important to us that people have complete confidence in our food.
"First impressions count so it makes sense to use a caterer who has the experience and confidence to work with each client to ensure their food meets all expectations."
When so much is riding on a business meeting it seems incredible that people will still cut corners on the catering.
"Businesses in Corby who are considering using an alternative caterer or looking for something different for a meeting or training session will often opt to use our services once they have seen and tasted the food," added Des, who spent more than 22 years in the Royal Navy.
A wide range of food is freshly-prepared at the kitchens based at Occupation Road in Corby including options sold at the cafe the business runs at the Corby Enterprise Centre at Priors Hall.
Corporate and private clients, not fortunate enough to be based in the Corby area, still use DDW Catering Ltd for other services including a hog roast, hot fork buffet, canapes and barbecues.
"We do have a range of menus which show clients what we can offer but we offer bespoke menus to meet their tastes and budgets. Some might want a four-course dinner for 200 people in a marquee while others want a more informal hot fork buffet for a club celebration. We want customers to feel confident that the food being served meets their tastes," said Des, who runs the company with his wife and fellow director Ann.
"Cost will always be a factor but why risk upsetting a client by serving second-rate food? Food needs to look good and taste good."
