Creating a buzz

BALLYHOO PR is working with businesses across the county to provide them with more affordable PR and copywriting packages to boost their profile and get them and their products and services noticed.

The company, which works out of the 3e Hub building in Corby, is run by a small but committed team of two – Emma Speirs and Katie Graves.

Coming up for three years in business, Ballyhoo PR works with companies of all sizes and industries from retailers and High Street banks through to construction, education and logistics firms. It also counts many busy sole traders and consultants as clients who can’t find the time to write blogs or manage their social media accounts.

“Public relations has – and always will be – our specialism,” said Emma. “But nowadays, PR is about so much more than getting coverage through a third party. It is about getting yourself out there as an authority and personality and for people to think of you and your business when they need an expert in a certain field, whether that be a journalist looking for a comment or a customer looking for a service.

“Whilst getting ‘earned media’ coverage is still hugely important, this can’t be done as a standalone activity. This needs to be backed up with consistent messaging and an online presence too. Naturally, when pulling together PR plans and strategies, social media, blogging and guest blogging, video and seeking out speaking opportunities are all activities we need to be doing to get featured in the media, get talked about in our industry and local area, and just generally create a buzz.”

Ballyhoo PR can create bespoke PR and copywriting packages, carry out one-off ad hoc projects or become an outsourced marcomms team managing your public relations, blogs and social media activity as an ongoing monthly service.
