Celebrities lined up for masterclasses

Students will get the chance to quiz former Apprentice star and Celebrity Big Brother winner James Hill during a business master-class at a skills festival being held at Northampton College next month.

The session will form part of Skills Fest, a showcase of the courses on offer at the College which will also include an exclusive “after-party’ featuring a DJ set from Made in Chelsea star Jamie Laing and a performance by Alien Uncovered who got through to the live shows of The X Factor.

The event, which will take place from 4pm to 9pm on Friday, 22 April, will give current Northampton College students and prospective students from schools across the town the chance to sample more than 30 master classes and find out more about courses on offer for the next academic year.

Sessions will include tips on lifestyle blogging from YouTube sensation Megan Gilbride, the opportunity to spray paint a car, make your own music track or have a go at getting your name on the leaderboard for the virtual welding simulator.

James Whybrow, assistant principal at Northampton College, said: “Skills Fest is a fantastic opportunity for students to come down to Booth Lane, have a look around our first-class facilities and find out more about subjects they are interested in.

“We have attracted an all-star cast and anyone coming along will get the chance to listen to some of the biggest names around. James Hill has got a wealth of experience from his time in the boardroom with Lord Sugar and it will be fascinating to hear his views on business.”

The event will include a free BBQ in the courtyard and a homecoming performance from girl band Alien Uncovered, whose Natalie Kassanga is a former Northampton College student.

The after-party will be open to anyone who participates in two 45-minutes master class sessions
