New joint venture partnership to provide commercial services

WHEN it opens its doors on 4 June 2018, Daventry Norse will be offering professional and competitive grounds maintenance and trade waste collection services to businesses and organisations in and around Northampton region.

Daventry Norse, a joint venture partnership between Daventry District Council and one of the UK’s most successful facilities management and services providers, Norse Group, will also be delivering, shaping and improving a range of front line services on behalf of the council.

Norse provides high-quality, competitive services commercially through 14 other local authorities partnerships around the UK, including one in nearby Wellingborough.

Nick Drake, Operations Director at Daventry Norse, says the new company will make significant investment in facilities and equipment for environmental services, including a new fleet of vehicles, machinery and equipment, and the redevelopment of the Council’s environmental depot and offices at High March Daventry.

“Although our initial main activity will centre of the smooth transition of the council services into the new company, we will also be actively promoting our grounds maintenance and trade waste management services to other local organisations,” said Nick. “The investment we are making, and the experience of our staff means we will be one of the leading suppliers in the region.”

Norse Group Managing Director Dean Wetteland says that Norse now operates 16 partnerships around the country, nine of which provide waste, recycling or environmental services.

“Our unique combination of public sector ethos and commercial flair has built a reputation for cost efficiency, quality and innovation in service delivery,” he said. “The business model creates new external business opportunities, which generate new revenue streams and profit-share for our council partners. Our business plans have already identified employment opportunities for two new fitter roles and an apprentice fitter.

“Through our well-established training and development programmes we also help provide job security for the staff who transfer to our partnerships, and we actively support the area’s supply chain through our commitment to a ‘buy-local’ policy wherever possible.”

Daventry Norse will be located at Contracts House, High March, Daventry NR11 4HB.
