SCANIA dealer TruckEast provides round the clock support to its customers through its 13 locations across the Eastern Counties.
One of its largest is situated on Stewarts Road, Wellingborough, offering both sales and after-sales services to local operators.
As well as its 24-hour workshop, the fully equipped site boasts a full size ATF lane, tacho centre, truck wash, accident repair bodyshop and comprehensive parts store. But to enable it to continue to expand its services to support customer demands, investment is key.
Each year, TruckEast continues to invest in both its premises and most importantly its people. Now employing over 360 staff, the independent dealer prides itself on keeping business moving. Whether that is the next generation of trucks, ministry inspections and maintenance or the supply of parts, each and every service is there to keep customers running. The common factor behind that service, is its dedicated staff.
2017 saw the business take its largest intake of apprentices in one year ever, taking the next steps in building the next generation workforce.
The latest investment for the firm really looks to the future – a sustainable one at that. Its Wellingborough branch has opted for a solar PV solution from SAS Energy across its workshop roof.
John Biggin, Managing Director said: “We have looked to solar options for our large roof-top before, but the payback has always been too long. However, we were approached by SAS Energy who worked out a deal that gave us payback in under five years. We are now generating around 140kwh per day in this fantastic weather whilst doing our bit for the environment.”
