Carving out a unique and relaxing experience

GUESTS will soon be able to enjoy Sunday lunch with a difference at Kettering Park Hotel – with the introduction of a carving trolley that allows the restaurant’s beautifully cooked roast beef to be served at the table.

The emphasis is on Sunday lunch in the traditional family way – with the carving trolley packed with meat, Yorkshire puddings and gravy, then bowls of roast potatoes and fresh vegetables presented on the table so that everyone can help themselves -just like family dinners at home.

In addition, to encourage diners to arrive early and stay on a while afterwards, there is a selection of classic games – a chance for everyone to spend some quality time together without the electronics and screens that can dominate family life if they are allowed to.

For those looking for something other than the Sunday roast, there will also a choice of classic British dishes with a twist, as well as the restaurant’s Chef’s Table, where guests help themselves from a selection of fresh seafood, artisan cured meats and seasonal salads, will be available as a starter or main course.

Desserts, from steamed and baked puddings to ice cream sundaes, depending on the season finish the meal off in style and a children’s menu featuring mini versions of the main dishes, along with a few carefully chosen extras, is also on offer.

Afternoon tea is also set to be relaunched, with new touches such as hot pancakes with seasonal accompaniments, along with an updated selection of savoury items and, of course, sweet treats and cakes. The hotel’s membership of the Tea Guild will guarantee a properly brewed, quality hot drink at all times. A glass of fizz can be added for an additional cost.

Andrew Hollett, General Manager of Kettering Park Hotel, said: “Sunday lunch is one of the times when you want to enjoy a family meal in the old-fashioned way. It should be relaxed, with good food and enjoyable company so you can make an occasion of it.

“Afternoon Teas are always popular and so we’re adding a few new touches there, too, which we hope guests will enjoy. All in all, we hope guests will join us to sample and enjoy what we have on offer.”
