THE new owners of a Vehicle Service, Repair and MOT Centre, based in Kettering, understands the value of a reputation built on longevity and trust.

Feakins of Kettering, based in Linnell Way on the Telford Way Industrial Estate was founded over forty years ago. Over the years, it has become known, not just for the expertise and customer service offered by its staff, but also for the transparency and openness that clients with car problems appreciate so much.

Now, the new Managing Director Paul Bourne is hoping to build on that, while at the same time upgrading and developing the business.

“One of the most important things to customers is that they know they are getting a genuine and honest response from their garage,” said Paul. “People tend not to know too much about their cars, particularly with the modern, sophisticated systems that are built into cars today, and rely on someone telling them the truth and not carrying out work that’s not strictly necessary.

“We have a reputation for making everything as clear as we can, whether that’s someone who’s just dropped in with a dent or scrape that needs repairing, or one of our fleet customers, who know they can drop a vehicle off to us and trust us to do what needs doing without any nasty surprises.”

Feakins has a Class 4 (cars and light vans) MOT bay, a service and repair shop, and a body shop with bake oven and spray booths. A large proportion of its work is with company fleet vehicles, particularly on the busy industrial estate where it has been based for so many years.

Under its new ownership, the premises are being prepared for a facelift, although work inside will carry on as normal.

“Although we’re a rather traditional garage and repair centre, we do have all the very latest in skills, equipment and diagnostics, and we want the business to reflect that, and to look and feel more attractive to new customers,” said Paul Bourne.

“We’re excited about the future, we’re looking to develop and grow and really take the business into the 21st Century.”
