AN innovative GPS vehicle tracking solution from Kettering-based Trackitnow enables their customers to locate, monitor and communicate with their vehicles and drivers.

The system is the brainchild of Andy Tomalin and Chris Simms who set up the company in 2007, after seeing an opportunity to develop a new type of easy to use fleet vehicle, plant and machinery tracking solution that would enable any subscribed user to review live or historical location, movement and activity data of vehicles and machinery to improve their business efficiency.

Trackitnow developed an easy to use software package called ‘ERA’ (electronic remote access).  The software works on any PC from XP onwards or any Web based system including Macintosh and can be accessed via tablets and smartphones from both the Apple and the Google Play Store. The hardware can be supplied and installed either on a sales or contracted rental basis.

The versatile, affordable and reliable solution is under continual development to meet the needs of more than 1,000 customers. Functionality includes live and historical reporting, traffic information, P11D calculations, monitoring and reporting of driver behaviour and the integration with CANbus (fuel monitoring) and Tachograph systems to enable scheduled automatic download of data and reports.

Office manager Victoria McCoy said: “We listen to our clients and work closely with them to deliver what they may need, including sometimes premium bespoke customisations of the system to ensure it meets the exacting needs of each business”

A recent free software update includes live trend reporting. This provides KPI information in a dashboard format that allows live insight into driver behaviour. Enhanced services such as speeding by road exception reports are also available for a very small premium. Customers often see a significant reduction in accidents, vehicle abuse and wear-and-tear, fuel consumption and fuel theft as well as improving efficiency and increasing profitability.

Victoria said: “Tight deadlines in a competitive market means there are real benefits to businesses getting a better understanding of how their vehicle fleets are operating. A Trackitnow solution can help a business save money, become more time efficient and more profitable, as well offering their customers an improved service.”
