Building tomorrow’s future

BASED a short distance from Moulton Park, Moulton College offers apprenticeships across 25 frameworks with flexible start dates throughout the year to meet learner and employer needs.

This academic year has seen a record number of new apprenticeship enrolments at Moulton College across construction, land-based and animal welfare frameworks. An apprenticeship provides an exciting opportunity for a learner to achieve recognised qualifications while earning a wage and gaining real workplace experience.

There is currently high demand across all construction trades, with employers using the apprenticeship scheme to train the next generation of construction workers. This is particularly important in this sector due to the deep skills shortage emerging, particularly in light of the increased activity across the sector and problems being caused by the ageing workforce.

Recruitment to technical and professional and higher level construction apprenticeships is particularly strong.?These apprenticeships offer a really exciting alternative to the traditional full-time study options into technical and management careers with students able to gain invaluable work experience while completing their higher level academic qualifications.

The higher apprenticeship at Moulton College has only been running for three years and the first group of learners are all now completing and moving into permanent employment, often having achieved promotion as a result of their apprenticeship. Some learners are also progressing onto part-time degree qualifications to further enhance their qualifications and career prospects.

The college is also delighted to see growth across land-based apprenticeships in horticulture and agriculture as well as an increase in interest in the animal welfare frameworks, providing exciting progression opportunities for full time learners as well as new entrants to these professions.

The college has a team of apprenticeship advisors that can help you to explore if an apprentice could enhance your business and guide you through the whole process from recruitment of the correct candidate to understanding and supporting funding and grant applications.?

Currently, Moulton College does not charge any employer contribution for intermediate or advanced apprenticeships regardless of learner age and there is still time to recruit an apprentice under the current rules.
