At the heart of the town

A NORTHAMPTON industrial estate owned and developed by the Darby Group over the past 40 years is currently fully let – providing quality business accommodation for a wide variety of firms close to the heart of the town.

Despite difficult economic times, the Darby Group has seen occupancy rates on Rothersthorpe Avenue Industrial Estate rise steadily since 2009. Offering space from 2,000 square feet to 25,000 square feet, the estate has attracted firms including those in the motor sector, engineering, leisure and trade counter users.

Richard Darby, Director of the family-run company that has developed property in Northamptonshire and the surrounding counties over three generations, said: “We have properties across the county and into Buckinghamshire and Leicestershire, but Rothersthorpe Avenue Industrial Estate has long been our key property in the town of Northampton and we are delighted that it has been such a success. “There were some difficult years for Northampton businesses when the recession bit but occupancy rates have risen steadily over the past few years and things are looking very much more positive today. Its success is also indicative of the desperate shortage of industrial development land in general but certainly in Northampton and we are always working to identify new opportunities to provide more space for businesses.”

In addition to the Rothersthorpe Avenue Industrial Estate, the Darby Group has a range of industrial, commercial and residential properties, including the Pan Freight Depot on Harlestone Road in Northampton and flats in Gray Street in the town, as well as properties in Kettering, Brixworth, Narborough, Milton Keynes, Buckingham and Olney.
