COLLABORATION between The Business Club Northants and the University of Northampton has provided a sound basis of support for new businesses looking to gain a foothold in a competitive corporate world.
The networking group, which holds two meetings in the town each month, as well as a meeting in Kettering, recently launched a new service for start-up and young businesses, called The New2BusinessClubNorthants.
Sponsored by the University of Northampton, the new club offers a six-monthly series of courses that builds into a reference manual covering all aspects of starting and maintaining a business.
The university has made a pledge to support local businesses as part of its mission to transform lives and inspire change – attracting employers of all size to the town and helping them build successful businesses that, in turn, go on to support or inspire graduates and young people looking to move into the world of work.
The Business Club Northants, now in its eleventh year, has proved invaluable to businesses of all sizes – from start-ups to long-established firms – that want to network and build relationships with other professionals in the area.
CEO Mike Willis, said: “Running your own business can be tough and the opportunity to sound others out, in an informal setting, and forging new partnerships can make all the difference.
“It doesn’t matter how big your company is, or how many people you employ or manage, there’s room for networking and the chance to build and grow either through finding people you can do business with, or who provide the kind of support services you might be looking for.”
Members of The Business Club Northants benefit from three evening meetings every month, held in quality venues in Kettering and Northampton and including regular guest speakers, as well as a database of members, member benefits and ongoing training programmes. The Business Club Bucks provides similar opportunities in Milton Keynes.
