VOTING is now open in the public vote categories of the 2017 SME Northamptonshire Business Awards, which launched at the end of April.

Sponsors, organisers, invited guests and some of last year’s winners were at Northampton College for the official launch of this year’s event, which was a great success in its inaugural year in 2016.

Two new categories have been added for 2017 – Restaurant of the Year and Pub of the Year – and the winners of these, along with the Service Excellence Award will be nominated and voted on by the public via the awards website.

The launch event saw Kettering firm HR Solutions join Business Times and Stanair to complete the line-up of headline sponsors, while other sponsors include, among others, Tresham College, Borneo Martell Turner Coulson, Chelton Brown, Bosworth College and dbfb.

The 2017 SME Northamptonshire Business Awards are open to any business with fewer than 250 employees and categories include Community Business of the Year, Rural Business of the Year, Not For Profit Business of the Year and a Green Award, and each business is eligible to enter up to two categories.

Organiser Damian Cummins said: “Once again, the launch was a great success and we’re very excited about getting the 2017awards under way. We’re asking people to nominate businesses for the Service Excellence Award, and also for our two new categories, Restaurant of the Year and Pub of the Year.

“Once the nominations are closed, people will be able to go onto our website and vote for their favourites.”
