Taking the limelight

WHILST sponsoring the SME Northamptonshire Business Awards has a range of benefits for our local businesses, as well as aligning with a number of our priorities in terms of place-marketing and raising the profile of the local area, it has also had the added bonus of getting all eyes on South Northamptonshire Council.

Having hosted the launch event of the Awards in April, the Economic Growth (EG) team has begun directly engaging with the business community as over 99 per cent of local businesses are SMEs and therefore eligible to enter.

Having utilised the expertise in the Communications Team, the EG team haa marketing going out left, right and centre to ensure that local employers take advantage of this free opportunity to secure a nationally recognised accolade in any of the 22 different categories.

The internally designed marketing flyer, which has been circulated to key stakeholders, showcases SNC’s high-quality style and endorses the awards as worth recognising.

Following this positive publicity push, efforts have paid off as Jim Newton, Assistant Director of Planning & Economy, was invited to give an interview on BBC Radio Northampton to discuss why South Northamptonshire Council are the only local authority in the county to capitalise on this opportunity.

Partners all across the region are promoting South Northamptonshire Council and the awards that are putting the county on the map, particularly within the South Northamptonshire district with the new and exclusive category – South Northamptonshire Business of the Year.
