MEETING and exceeding the needs of every guest is what makes the Oak House Hotel stand out from the crowd.

The conveniently located hotel, overlooking Broad Green in Wellingborough, has welcomed thousands of guests since it came under the ownership of Gayle O’Sullivan and her family.

Now, 21 years later, guests can expect the same service – whoever they are and whatever they might need.

For some the hotel is the ideal venue for family events from weddings and baptisms to funerals. Others use it as a meeting place for family and friends or a base for when they visit events ranging from Waendel Walk to drag racing at Santa Pod.

The family-run licensed hotel offers bed and breakfast at an incredibly competitive rate which is another reason why it is popular with businesses. After taking advantage of the free car parking at the rear of the hotel, guests can relax in one of 14 en-suite bedrooms with access to wifi and Freeview or socialise over a drink in the guests’ television lounge.

Gayle said: “The needs of each guests are at the heart of what we do, and we make sure we listen to what they require to make the most of their stay.”

During the years there have been a list of familiar faces enjoying the hospitality from Escape to the Country presenter Jules Hudson and singer Georgie Fame to snooker stars like Ken Doherty, Ronnie O’Sullivan and Tony Drago, who were using the facilities at the former snooker academy.

Chelsea Pensioner Alan King made another return in November for the annual Remembrance Day services at the nearby war memorial. The hotel’s open door policy on the day means people attending the service can use the toilets, pick up wreaths or simply catch up with people after the service while enjoying the complimentary refreshments.

“This is our way of saying thank you to the people who work so hard for this great cause,” said Gayle.

The feedback on Trip Advisor is testament to the hard work of Gayle and her team. Recent posts include: ‘very clean and comfortable’, ‘very tasty breakfasts, ‘nothing too much trouble’ and ‘we will return to the hotel in the future’.

Gayle said: “It means a lot to us to know that guests appreciate what we offer and love to welcome them back or meet new people who are looking for a hotel which suits their needs.”
