HAVING highly-sought-after equipment available for hire is no good if it can’t be delivered to the customer as and when they need it – hence Hitec Lift Trucks’ decision to invest in a second lorry.
The firm, on the Finedon Road Industrial Estate, provides fork lift trucks for sale and hire to customers across the region. Additionally, it has added a range of niche access platform and specialist lifting equipment to its portfolio to meet the demands of customers.
That increased demand was too much for one delivery and collection vehicle to cope with, so the firm bought a second lorry that was purpose built to transport specialist items to customers quickly and efficiently.
Managing Director Prospero Girardi said: “We’ve recently added some niche access platform and lifting equipment to our portfolio because we listened to what our customers are asking for and responded accordingly.
“There turned out to be a great demand for these items, particularly for short-term hire, and our one delivery lorry just wasn’t enough. The nature of these items is that people need them urgently for a particular job, and we were struggling to get them where they needed to be in the necessary time scale.
“So a second lorry will enable us to fulfil more of those requests and make sure the investment we’ve made in the specialist equipment pays off through it being hired out to maximum effect.”
Hitec Lift Trucks’ equipment is available for sale or hire, either on long-term or short-term hire, to fill an urgent need for extra equipment at busy periods or for use in specific situations.
“We’ve made ourselves a bit of a one-stop shop so that customers can meet all their handling needs in one go, saving time in having to find two suppliers, and saving transport costs as everything they need can be accessed via us and then delivered at the same time,” added Prospero.
