TRAINING isn’t just about staff development and keeping the workforce up to date with new equipment and procedures – it’s often a legal requirement.

Certainly, in terms of fork lift trucks and mechanical handling equipment, there are strict accreditation guidelines to follow – and finding a training provider that can ensure those vital qualifications are in place is all-important.

Phoenix Training ensures all its instruction on fork lift trucks and mechanical handling equipment is delivered to nationally recognised standards as laid down by their accrediting body, ITSSAR, giving clients peace of mind that their operators are suitably trained and fully compliant.

Each accrediting body has its own operator registration scheme, meaning that training delivered by an accredited provider can be easily validated.

Emma Williams, Managing Director of Phoenix Training, said: “Since the formation of the Accrediting Bodies Association (ABA) we have seen significant changes within the industry and the accrediting bodies are working more closely together so that there is more consistency in training being offered by providers.”

“We deliver fully accredited training so that clients can be secure in the knowledge that their employees will meet the accrediting body’s requirements once they have completed their training.”

Emma, who took over at Phoenix Training six years ago after working for the company for 10 years has seen the company continue to grow and develop in terms of the courses available and the personnel available to deliver them.

She has built on her own portfolio of training so that she can deliver many courses herself, including the IOSH Managing Safely and Working Safely qualifications.

“Over recent months we have seen a sharp increase in the number of manual handling vehicle banksman and IOSH courses that we deliver,” she said. “We aim to provide a complete portfolio of mechanical handling, health and safety and fork lift training.”
