A firm favourite

THERE are many good reasons that the Bombay Palace is one of Northampton’s longest-standing Indian restaurants.

The firm Kingsthorpe favourite has an impressive reputation for its food and customer service. A private dining room is available for groups of up to 30 people while the main restaurant is the ideal setting for those looking to celebrate or for people who need to talk business over a good meal.

Attentive staff and only the best quality ingredients make the grade at the restaurant with favourites from the mild creamy Korma to Madras and Vindaloo.

The experienced chefs can conjure up a wealth of specials to tempt the tastebuds and where possible try to meet the tastes of individual diners. The menu includes Nihari Jhinga, which promises a real taste of India with wholetail king prawns cooked with onions, tomatoes, ginger, garlic and fresh coriander served with the chef’s special spinach rice.

Akbari Cham Cham combines large piece of chicken tikka cooked in a specially blended spicy sauce while Silsila chicken is cooked in the chef’s special sauce made with mango chutney and fresh spices.

Customers who follow a vegetarian diet are spoilt for choice including Chilli Paneer which is a stir fry of cottage cheese, peppers, onions and green chillies, or maybe opt for a main course from the healthy options like Vegetable Susto or Vegetable Lazeez, a combination of potato, cauliflower and chick peas cooked with special spices.

Guests can take their own drinks at no extra charge or take advantage of special offers like a 20 per cent discount for customers dining at the restaurant from Sunday to Thursday. Free parking is available near the restaurant in Welford Road, Kingsthorpe.
