Growing business

FRUIT and vegetable wholesalers Eureka Produce (UK) Ltd make all the difference to the success of businesses who rely on creating high-quality, cost-effective food for their customers.

But the Wellingborough-based wholesaler offers so much more than simply delivering food at the right price.

Its operation is growing, literally, to meet demand for products in a range of categories including fresh and prepared fruit and vegetables, dairy and cheese, bakery, fine foods such as olives and sliced meats plus an extensive offer of ‘chefs essentials’ from frozen peas to cling film.

Sales manager Darrell Belliveau said each client had differing needs and the business worked hard to build and maintain partnerships with enterprises from restaurants and hotels to care homes, garden centres and the education sector.

“We are a young, vibrant company which has a growing list of clients who value our commitment to providing the highest possible quality products,” said Darrell. “These businesses recognise that while price is always a major consideration, they also expect food to be delivered on time and of a high standard.”

The company, which has a distribution warehouse on the Leyland Trading Estate, has an extensive network of suppliers across the world and closer to home including artisan producers in Northamptonshire and the surrounding counties.

This network means the company can meet requests for exotic fruit, elusive iceberg lettuce or the first cut of the season’s asparagus along with delicious cheese using milk from a local goat herd or locally grown gorgeous summer berries.

Regularly the team, which has a fleet of temperature-controlled delivery vans, will go direct to producers in order to reduce transportation time and optimise freshness.

Darrell said: “In such a demanding industry, time is always of the essence, so working directly with producers means we can maintain our quality standards and provide ingredients to our customers in peak condition. It makes sense and means we can help support the regional economy in addition to complementing our green environmental policy.”

The wholesaler’s attitude means clients can feel confident in the produce required to ensure they can maintain high standards.

“We do not believe in cutting corners which means our clients can have real peace of mind when they order with us,” said Darrell.

The company’s commitment includes working with Made in Northamptonshire which brings together independent producers and suppliers to showcase local produce.
