New chef on board

NORTHAMPTON cicchetti restaurant, Nuovo, have recently hired a new head chef who previously spent two years cooking privately for an elite athlete and has run the kitchen on Sir Richard Branson’s private Caribbean island.

Owners Stewart and Sophie Wright are delighted to announce the appointment of their new head chef, Scott Williams.

Scott, 48, began his career honing his skills in Michelin star restaurants. Since then, he has been hired by Sir Richard Branson to cook on his private Caribbean island, Necker Island, before returning to England, where he ran several highly regarded kitchens, including Leicestershire’s Kilworth House and the award winning spa Ragdale Hall.

Scott said: “I am really excited to be joining the Nuovo team and being able to cook what, for me, is a new style of cuisine.”

Describing his cooking, Scott said: “I aim to create excitement on the plate and on the palate.”

In previous roles, Scott has featured in multiple magazines and TV programmes, as well as assisting in the production of a cookbook based on recipes he created at Ragdale Hall.

Stewart said: “When I knew Scott was back in Northampton, I knew he’d be perfect for Nuovo. Having known him for many years, I am certain Scott’s skills and experience will bring something new and special to our menu.”

“We’re all looking forward to him building on the success of our previous chef, Matt Taylor, and leading our kitchen into new and exciting times.”

Working together, Scott and Stewart have created Nuovo’s latest menu for Spring/Summer 2017 which was be launched in the restaurant in April.

Nuovo, located in Northampton’s town centre, opened at the end of 2014 and serves cicchetti, a Venetian style of dining consisting entirely of small dishes.
