After several years specialising in olive oil as Ol Extra Virgin UK, the business has renamed and taken on specialist chilled warehouse facilities on Orion Way, Kettering Business Park, at the same time increasing the product range to over 100 items.
Manchego cheese from La Mancha, Jamon Serrano and Iberico from Cordoba, Olives from the Guadalorce Valley, Pimienton from Extremadura and chorizo from Andalucia are just a few of the core products. Maria Luz is particularly proud of the Sierra Crestellina goats cheese from the far south, produced with the milk from one single heard, The Spanish Food Company is the only seller outside of the province in which it’s produced.
Maria Luz said: “Spanish food has been growing in popularity in the UK for some years particularly in the south east and London and although spreading to the rest of the UK we’re some way behind still. Patatas brava and paella just don’t do it any more, customers are looking for quality original Spanish food and tapas ingredients that too many of the tapas chain restaurants just don’t provide.
“We are very specialised, have an enormous depth of product knowledge, we know every one of our producers personally, we offer a next day delivery which we can support with quality fresh fruit and vegetables if our customer wish and we love sampling our products with potential customers helping them select the right produce or ingredients for their menus.”
