Traditional favourite

SUNDAY lunch has long been a family favourite, and the menu at Kettering Park Hotel ensures that everyone is happy, from the traditionalist to those looking for something a little different.

Introduced last year, the Sirloin of roast beef, carved at the table and served with Yorkshire pudding and all the trimmings has become a firm favourite with diners. Alternatively, guests can choose from lemon, thyme and garlic roast chicken with sage and onion stuffing; pan-fried sea bass with buttered new potatoes and braised fennel; or candied beets, walnuts and rocket salad.

To start, the menu choices include a visit to the Chef’s table, where diners can choose from dressed whole trout, fresh seafood, cured artisan meats, salads and accompaniments, or there’s cream of leek and potato soup; roasted vegetable and goat’s cheese tartlet and ham hock terrine.

If you have room, there’s sticky toffee pudding, glazed lemon tart, Cambridge burnt cream or a cheese board, as well as the spectacular Baked Alaska, with a cherry ice cream centre and soft meringue snow, which is flamed at the table.

Sunday Lunch is priced at £24.95 for three courses or £20.95 for two (£11.95 or £9.95 for children or half portions)

The restaurant soon fills up for Sunday, so booking is highly recommended, particularly for larger parties.

Andrew Hollett, General Manager of the Kettering Park Hotel, said: “Sunday lunch is always popular and we’ve worked on making it a traditional family occasion where all ages sit down together, relax and enjoy each other’s company over quality food.”
