BECKWORTH Emporium truly deserves the ‘unique’ tag.

This is a destination, nestling in the heart of the countryside, which boasts a wealth of temptations.

It is five years since the doors opened at the emporium, which is near Sywell, just a short drive from Northampton and Wellingborough.

The venue was a joint venture between David Brown and Jon Kitching and on their fifth anniversary they can justifiably be proud of their achievements.

At the emporium’s heart is an award-winning restaurant which has won accolades for its fresh, wholesome food often using locally sourced produce including supplies from its food market.

The market, home to award-winning butcher, Hambleton Farms, is popular with visitors on a day out or those who simply want to do their weekly shop. The shelves are stocked with a tempting selection including hand-made pork pies and local products including real ales, chutneys and cheeses.

Gardening enthusiasts also appreciate the nursery which sells a wide selection of bedding plants and shrubs, including many grown on site.

Jon said: “When we first had the idea we knew it was going to be so much more than a garden nursery or a restaurant so emporium seemed to fit. It has been a fantastic five years and we would like to thank all our customers who have helped to make it such a success.”

The restaurant is the focal point of the emporium, with customers able to relax in three totally different dining areas, with breakfast served from 8am Monday to Saturday and 9am on Sundays. First is a contemporary dining room with wooden tables and leather chairs, set around elegant palm trees, or customers can soak up the light and bustling atmosphere in the stunning glasshouse.

And, on those long summer days, enjoy lunch or afternoon tea with attentive waitress service on  The Terrace Garden where wooden furniture, set on a lush lawn, is surrounded by conifer trees.

Jon said: “We love seeing our customers enjoying their food in the restaurant and we hope they will continue to give us their support and enable us to develop and grow Beckworth Emporium.”
