Waiting to welcome you again

IT may seem a long way off at the moment but once the current situation is over, we’re going to appreciate a trip to the pub for a pint and a good meal more than ever before.

Waiting to resume where they left off are the team at The Royal Oak in Cogenhoe. The award-winning village pub is popular with visitors from far and wide, for its welcoming atmosphere, its good food and its well-kept bar, including some of the finest ales.

Winner of Pub of the Year in last year’s SME Northamptonshire Business Awards, The Royal Oak offers an extensive a la carte menu, available in the evenings and at lunchtime, when there is also a range of hot and cold sandwiches available.

Normally open all day, six days a week, The Royal Oak kitchen team prides itself on its selection of dishes featuring locally sourced produce wherever possible. New choices are continually added to offer something new alongside the tried and tested favourites.

Just before the current regulations were put in place, the pub had added a new deli counter, offering lighter meals and snacks to diners throughout the day.

Landlady Kath Garner said: “These are difficult times for everyone and we are focused on getting through this and look forward to seeing the pub busy again once we start getting back to normal.

“There’s nothing quite like enjoying a drink or a meal out with friends in the pub, and we feel so sad that people are missing out on all that. But we’re all in the same position and can just hope that doesn’t last too long and we’ll be back up and running very soon.”
