Developer hails site’s jobs opportunities

Construction is under way on the final phase of development at SEGRO Park Kettering.

A 102,500 sq ft speculatively built facility will become the last available unit on the development and is due to be available to occupy from September. It will combine warehousing, offices and a secure yard, as well as sustainability features including rainwater harvesting, solar thermal heating, intelligent low energy lighting and EV charging points.

International distribution and services group Bunzi has already agreed a pre-let on a separate 150,000 sq ft warehouse on site, its second facility at SEGRO Park

Developer SEGRO’s managing director, national logistics Andrew Pilsworth said: “We look to delivering these three buildings at pace in the coming months, bringing further employment opportunities into the region.”

SEGRO is working with lead contractor Winvic to highlight training and employment opportunities to local schools and businesses, in particular encouraging women into careers in construction.

Planning consent was secured at SEGRO Park Kettering to deliver a total of 1.2 million sq ft of industrial and warehouse space. The site, located at Junction 10 of the A14, is next to Latimer Business Park.

The new buildings are being developed in addition to a separate 622,000 sq ft freehold facility for beverage packaging manufacturer Ball Corporation.
