A growing team

HOWES Percival has been joined by several new recruits recently, all based at its office in Rushmills, Northampton.

Stephen Ruse, who has just completed his two-year graduate training contract with the firm, has, on qualification, joined the IP/IT team to specialise in advising on intellectual property exploitation and enforcement, and advising on IT contracts and data protection including GDPR compliance. He provides much needed assistance to Jenna Bruce.

The insolvency team, headed up by Katie Summers and Deborah Nigh, have recruited their second assistant solicitor since summers nigh law merged with Howes Percival in June 2017. Rebecca Coxhead joined the team in September 2018, having previously worked for Hewitsons LLP, and brings both her considerable commercial litigation and insolvency experience to the growing insolvency line up in Northampton. In just one year, the team has gone from five to eight members and continues to go from strength to strength. They are firmly now part of the furniture!

Lucy Lord’s commercial property team continues to grow and is joined by two new recruits. Darren Showunmi has joined as a paralegal to provide support across the team and to assist the corporate team on their transactions. Aimee Knight joins the team as an assistant solicitor from a leading law firm in Birmingham. Aimee will be dealing with all elements of commercial property but has a particular specialism in the charities sector.

The residential property team has also been expanding, as it has continued to increase its work with residential property developers acting both on plot sales and plot purchasers for developers such as Mulberry and Persimmon. Kristina Vainberg has recently joined the team and will concentrate mainly on general conveyancing and residential portfolio work.

Commenting on the growth, senior partner Gerald Couldrake said: “The growth in recruitment across so many teams shows that hard work and commitment to achieving our clients’ aims has really paid off. Clients and referrers really appreciate how we help their businesses and keep wanting more from us, hence the need to recruit so many talented new staff. We look forward to 2019 with enthusiasm and optimism.”
