Acquisition is an exciting development

LEADING regional law firm, Howes Percival, has acquired specialist insolvency practice, Summers Nigh Law.

The firm’s two partners, Katie Summers and Deborah Nigh, transfered to Howes Percival’s Northampton office on the Rushmills Business Park, in June, along with their five support staff.

Katie and Deborah will join as partners and be part of the firm’s nationally recognised insolvency team, headed by Carl Mifflin.

Howes Percival’s Northampton office provides a full service legal offering to clients in the town and beyond. The team has a wide range of expertise and specialise in working alongside medium-sized (often owner-managed) businesses, innovative and growing businesses as well as start-ups, schools and colleges. The office has a significant number of local and national clients in the development and construction, manufacturing, technology, automotive, food and drink, agriculture and education sectors.

Gerald Couldrake, Howes Percival’s senior partner, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Summers Nigh Law to Howes Percival. Katie and Deborah are well known to us, not only from their superb reputation in the insolvency world, but also because both of them started off life as trainees in the Northampton office. They know the firm and its ethos and we are very confident that they will be a great fit for the firm and, in particular, Northampton. This is an exciting development both for the firm and this office. We are committed to developing our insolvency services, and Katie and Deborah add further heavyweight experience and expertise.

“Howes Percival is in growth mode in Northampton and nationally. The move to new, bigger premises last year gave us the opportunity to further invest and grow local sector specialisms such as automotive and high performance engineering. Beyond Northampton, the firm has been investing in new offices and broadening its expertise in the last three years, with the number of partners increasing from 28 to 43, including Katie and Deborah.”

Howes Percival moved its Northampton office to new, bigger premises on The Rushmills Business Park in September 2016, after more than 30 years based at Oxford House, Cliftonville. For more information call 01604 230400 or visit www.howespercival.com
